Golden Hour or Blue Hour

The golden hours are approximately the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. However, the length of the golden hours can vary depending upon your geographical location and the current season.  Photographers call this a ‘magic hour’ because the sun is at a low angle giving soft, diffused, flattering light.

The blue hour is the time of day before sunrise and after sunset when the atmosphere has a deep, dark blue color.  Such timing can be particularly effective for both landscapes and Cityscapes (where the blue contrasts well with the orange of city lighting).
